Seems like there are plans in place to make KL a Free WiFi Zone!
The initiative is by DBKL with partnerships with Packet One . From my google search i found that they are a subsidiary of Green Packet which is based in the US.

Green Packet has ties with DiGi as well, as highlighted here.

Why am I saying all this? Because I'm a cynic. There is no such thing as a free lunch. I believe that all this is done to somebody's benefit, i just can't figure out who.

Oh and the Free Wireless program will last 2 years.
After which... I have no idea how much it will cost
