yes i couldn't agree more, the traffic light system is indeed stupid to give green light to the vehicles (or the lack of) coming from the in-betweens of parcel B and C....

Seriously, how often does Malaysian obey traffic regulation? Most Malaysians can't even put on their signal light before changing their course. Not to mention speeding at 130km/h when the speed limit stated very clearly 90km/h, while giving you fingers when he finally overtakes your cars.
Even worst, all the cars are parking illegally in front of IMU and Parcel B, causing obstruction of vision for drivers coming out Parcel B, and occupying one of the four lanes, causing cars from both directions going and coming from Tmn Esplanade on the risk of colliding with each others.
Comparing these to running the red lights at the junction, that was just very minor worries that we have!
The law must work, and it must be SEEN to work.
Nobody is going to abide by the 90kmph Rule when traveling daily to work at 140 does not earn them a speeding ticket.
And while we're at it - the traffic lights at the T-junction does not work. It causes a backlog until the other traffic lights near the entrance, i'm made to wait for nothing cuz there's no cars coming in from the dead end.. In this case, the law does not work.
I've got nothing against traffic lights, it serves a purpose. Making me wait 10 minutes for nothing....... that's just crap. It wasn't like this a few months ago anyway so y now?
I think everyone knows that the traffic light sequence causes the pile-up from the main road. That really doesn't mean that traffic rules don't apply anymore. If anybody should feel that the law isn't working, you have the rights to write to the city council to protest against the rule so that they can come and examine the situation and if they agree, then they can find a solution that can make everybody happy. But YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS to break the law, just because the law inconveniences you. when you run a red light, you risk causing an accident with another car or run into a pedestrian who may think it is safe to cross the road.
Traffic lights are there to regulate traffic. So that everyone on the road and the pedestrian knows when it is safe to move or to stop. With so many students crossing that junction everyday, I am surprised that it is not the students themselves who would complaint to the city council about this problem.
If there is anyone who has written to the city council to complaint about this, please share it. Then we can discuss how we can provide a solution to this traffic light problem.
Gatti, I'm behind you one hundred percent on the City Council.
Which is mostly why i asked about our constituency.
Who IS our MP? I'm pretty sure it's Teresa Kok, but I want to be sure before any action is initiated.
People who are governed by a set of laws will only obey laws when they accept the laws.
When people don't accept the laws, the laws will breakdown in one way or another (i.e. don't obey or try to change it, go for strike, petitions, campaign, throw stones etc*)
I don't mind volunteering to write a letter, anyone has any experience in these? Can we write English letter? or has it gotta be in Malay? I can't do Malay letter.

*list not exhaustive as to what people can do when they do not accept laws

Gatti, you have an ideal opinion but too bad you are living in this unideal world. Furthermore, do you think the city council will be taking any action to our complaint? So it's time to wake up. Or maybe I should be a little more positive and give them some faith, but truly, I don't! Trust me, write to DBKL and they will ask you to speak to the traffic department, and if you do that, the traffic department will tell you that it's DBKL duty.
And Leo, thanks for volunteering. Write them in Malay or else it will take ages for the letter to be processed or worst ended up in the dustbin without being read!
The only thing I would do, is to be extra careful when I reach the junction for any sign of car overtaking and intended to bypass the traffic light!
