Yes we've always wanted to start an online community for Vista Komanwel.
Why? Because how else can we interact with our Neighbours? I actually have never talked to mine.
Heck I don't even know what my neighbours address is rite now....
The other reason and perhaps the main reason is for classifieds. We've never had a proper classified page for ourselves. And as a result, I see a lot of papers all over the place advertising parking lots for rent, furniture for sale, rooms for rent, and all that. If we can move towards a paperless society and save the world and make all this so much easier, then why not?
(And while we're at it... I'm looking for a bookcase for myself, if anyone has one to sell)
We also aim to list down all news, contact numbers, events in Bukit Jalil, and everything else releveant to Residents of not only Vista Komanwel, but the whole of Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling.
So come in, have fun and please... use this Forum Topic to tell us what YOU want. We promise to listen.
To the guys from IMU - that especially involves you. Is there anything in particular that you guys want from an online portal?

Would you be kind enough to share with everyone a little bit more about what this site is all about? the history, your objective, and also may be something about you, are you the owner of a unit here? are you in contact with the management here? or the residents committee? This site can be easily misused by irresponsible people because there is no way to verify the user's identity. For all you know, I could be your next door neighbour or I could be writing this half way across the world.

Yes, I mostly founded this site. Leo shares a lot of the responsibility and chinwan is our No.1 fan. :D

I don't own a place here, I rent one.
This service is provided because I want to. Because I see a need for it. Classifieds would prolly work better HERE than being scattered all over the notice boards.
As for verification.
You're right about one thing, that this could be used by someone who is not a resident of Vista Komanwel. To me personally, I don't see a problem with that. I think there are many ppl who use usj.com.my who is not actually living in USJ. This is aimed for VK residents, and will always be that way. But if someone else wants to be a member, no harm done.
But if there IS harm done, I dont think any of the admins would hesitate kicking them out.
Which brings me to being open to abuse. The Malays have a phrase for it
"Berani Buat, Berani Tanggung"

leo — Wed, 05/07/2008 - 21:26Leo here, quite similar to Alvin, I'm finance nerd by nature and training (well only recently although it feels like quite a long time)
Anyway, I share the same thoughts as Alvin too as we welcome both VK residents and outsiders to join, although to start with, this is an effort extended to the residents to be able to participate in communications and the sharing of thoughts in a common area every now and then, without having to convene a special residents meeting somewhere in VK.
We hope that this effort could be helpful to aid the residents in the way we aforementioned. And hope that the outsiders, upon actively participated in the communication, would eventually liked this place and consider to get a unit in VK, well as we know, the more demand will increase the value of the houses, so you'd be happy if you're the owner (personally i hate to face the increase in rental in anyway, ;)
Like the terms and conditions had mentioned, the admins would be vigorously carry out their duty, ie. to kick out any trouble-makers in this site, even if in reality he/she owns 2 blocks of VK whatsoever.....
